A representative Appinio survey** that was commissioned by ALDI found that people’s shopping behaviors have changed when it comes to purchasing vegan products, and that this is due to the fact that people are increasingly buying from discounters. The results of the survey indicate that ALDI has the best price-performance ratio: ninety percent of those who participated in the survey rated the price-performance ratio of ALDI’s vegan range as “rather good” to “very good.” In addition to hosting a vegan tasting week to kick off the new year, ALDI also provides information on alternative diets, mouthwatering recipe ideas, and other product recommendations through its various digital channels.

The Veganuary campaign, which has its roots in the United Kingdom, was created with the intention of piqueing the interest of as many people as possible in adopting a plant-based diet and providing them with the motivation to give veganism a try as a way of life. As one of its many features, the program distributes a daily newsletter packed with illustrative examples and helpful pointers. For the first time ever, ALDI will be providing a vegan option in each of its employee restaurants throughout the month of January. This is in recognition of the fact that responsible nutrition begins with the individual.
