In addition to encouraging healthy lives and regular exercise, significant priority for SPAR nation organizations globally continue to be the implementation of wellbeing initiatives and the

construction of resilience training programs for their workforces. On this, the World Health Day, we would like to share with you some of the projects that are currently being implemented in SPAR stores.
The importance of one’s wellbeing

Wellbeing measures and creating resilience among the SPAR staff are still significant priorities despite the fact that a wide variety of problems, such as the pandemic, a crisis in the cost of living, and the repercussions of war, are having an impact on people’s lives. SPAR

UK, Spain, Austria, and South Africa are some of the partners engaging with employees in this field. Their goal is to ensure that their teams, regardless of level or department, are able to present SPAR in a positive light in front of consumers and clients.

The employees of SPAR International were given the option to take part in a program designed to promote their mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. This program included workshops on nutrition as well as how to deal with the impact of recent social and economic events and obstacles.

On the basis of the information gained from this training, SPAR national organizations are able to modify this fully-developed curriculum so that it meets the needs of their specific communities.

Employer that values and supports families: INTERSPAR Austria
The key to a satisfied workforce is striking a healthy balance between personal and professional obligations. The Austrian Ministry of Labour, Family, and Youth bestowed the quality label berufundfamilie (German for “work and family”) upon 77 INTERSPAR Hypermarkets in 2022,

including Maximarkt sites. Companies who make an effort to provide a welcoming atmosphere for families in the workplace might earn a quality mark for their efforts. Since 2014, the INTERSPAR Central Office has been certified as meeting the quality standards.

INTERSPAR Austria implemented a number of initiatives in order to promote the compatibility of work and family life. These measures include flexible working time models, management of maternity leave, manager training to support family-conscious practices, and many preventative health measures.
