SPAR Gran Canaria is stepping up its green efforts by partnering with the Foresta Foundation to plant trees on the Osorio estate. They added 250 new trees to the growing forest, actively enhancing the island’s lungs and reducing carbon emissions.
Since 2007, SPAR Gran Canaria and the Foresta Foundation have worked together to plant trees across the island, making a real impact. Their latest initiative will absorb around two tonnes of CO2 annually for the next 30 years.
The SPAR team made it a family affair, bringing 120 people to enjoy nature, create bird feeders, and join butterfly-themed activities. The day ended with a picnic at the beautiful Finca de Osorio, making it both a productive and fun experience.
Over the past 17 years, SPAR Gran has reforested various areas, emphasizing community support and sustainable practices. Their efforts go beyond selling products, with initiatives like solar panel installations and supporting local farmers, ensuring Gran Canaria stays green and vibrant for future generations.
