For the second year in a row, a grocery store has received praise for its associate, investor, and customer confidence ratings.
The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR), the nation’s largest supermarket, today declared that it has once again been named by Newsweek as one of “America’s Most Trustworthy Companies” for 2023. Customers’ trust, investor trust, and associate trust are the three major public pillars of trust that are honoured by this award.

“Kroger has a unique responsibility to lead with purpose and generate good change,” said Rodney McMullen, chairman and CEO of Kroger. “Kroger is an employer, food processor, retailer, healthcare provider, and more. We don’t take the honour of being named one of the Most Trustworthy Companies for granted, and we’ll keep trying to earn our customers’ confidence.
Companies with yearly revenues of $500 million or more in the United States are evaluated for the Newsweek Most Trustworthy Companies in America 2023 list. The list of the top 700 companies across 23 sectors was created in collaboration with Statista Inc. and is based on an independent survey of about 25,000 U.S. citizens. In the area of Grocery and Convenience Stores, Kroger came in third.
