Target Adds Starbucks Menu To Its Drive Up Service
US retail giant Target has expanded its Drive Up service to include Starbucks after a successful trial period. The nationwide rollout of Drive Up featuring Starbucks offers customers the ability to order Starbucks beverages or food items while collecting their Drive Up orders, as highlighted by the company.
It has initiated the implementation of this service, which will be accessible in more than 1,700 stores with a Starbucks café by October of the current year.
Mark Schindele, Target’s Chief Stores Officer, mentioned, “Our customers have consistently told us that Drive Up makes a significant difference in their lives, particularly when time is limited.
We have continued to listen to our customers, who have overwhelmingly conveyed that the combination of Drive Up with Starbucks would further enhance convenience and enjoyment during their visits to Target.
This unique service, available exclusively, is the latest illustration of how we continuously innovate to meet our customers’ requirements.”
Service Mechanism
The Target app sends a notification to place a Starbucks food or beverage order when customers indicate through the app that they are en route to collect their Drive Up order from a participating store.
Subsequently, customers select their desired food and drink items from the Starbucks menu, add them to the Drive Up order, and complete the payment process.
Upon parking in the designated drive-up area and confirming their arrival in the app, a team member delivers both the Starbucks order and the Drive Up items to the customer’s car, all free of charge.
The introduction of the Drive Up with Starbucks service builds on the more than two-decade partnership between Target and Starbucks.
Mark Ring, Senior Vice President of US Licensed Stores, Starbucks Canada, and Siren Retail, commented, “Starbucks has a rich history of adapting and innovating in order to serve our customers in ways that suit them best.
Providing the Starbucks Experience to Target’s Drive Up customers exemplifies how two iconic brands can create a moment of delight, leveraging the unique strengths of Starbucks and Target working together.”
