Takeover of Siegsdorfer Petrusquelle by Sonnländer
A division of the Hamburg EDEKA headquarters, Sonnländer Beverages GmbH, acquires the Siegsdorfer Petrusquelle in Upper Bavaria. The purchase will take place on April 1, 2023. Sonnländer reached an agreement with the Staatliche Mineralbrunnen AG, the previous proprietor of the Petrusquelle, on this. The typical mineral water, which has been mined here for more than 150 years, as well as soft drinks and spritzers are the mainstays of the traditional Petrusquelle menu.
With the acquisition, the EDEKA group is reaffirming its commitment to the beverage market, extending the product line offered by the Sonnländer subsidiary, and boosting independence and flexibility in order to better serve its customers by offering them high-quality products at competitive prices. Also, the Siegsdorfer Petrusquelle brand will endure. All workers will be retained. The purchase price will remain a secret, per their agreement.
