Sainsbury’s Local, which is now open as part of the recently upgraded station building in Coventry, has been attracting customers from the surrounding area, including local residents and shoppers.

The new store is open to customers from six in the morning until eleven at night every day of the week, and it is now serving a specially selected range of convenience products from Sainsbury’s local These products include freshly cut sandwiches as well as the retailer’s delicious food-to-go range.

In addition, Sainsbury’s local Coventry Station provides customers with a wholesome assortment of fruit and vegetables, in addition to a multitude of scrumptious branded and Sainsbury’s own brand essentials, including salads, savory snacks, and sweets. In addition to that, it provides a general merchandise selection, which includes a collection point where customers can pick up products that they have ordered online from retailers such as Argos, Habitat, and Tu Clothing.

Every day, fresh bread, rolls, and pastries are baked in the store. In addition, there is a Costa Coffee machine and an in-store juicer for customers who are in a hurry to pick up a refreshing beverage.

Customers have the option of checking out using Sainsbury’s Mobile Pay or SmartShop, a scan, pay, and go technology that enables them to pay for products using their smartphones. This makes the process both quicker and more convenient for customers. Mobile Pay is available to customers. SmartShop is available to customers.

Customers who have both a SmartShop account and a Nectar account are eligible to receive ‘Your Nectar Prices,’ which are customized price reductions available through the Nectar app and are determined by the products that customers purchase the most frequently.

It is exciting that we are now open for business in Coventry Station, where we will be able to serve and assist customers as they explore the brand new Sainsbury’s location.

Councillor Jim O’Boyle, Cabinet Member for Jobs, Regeneration, and Climate Change, said: “I’m really pleased to see this new store open; it will be a great asset for commuters and for local people. The new extension to the station has really made its mark and now there is good reason for everyone, not just train passengers, to pop in. I’m looking forward to the rest of the units being occupied to help give a warm Coventry welcome to everyone arriving by rail.”

Maria McCarron, station manager for Avanti West Coast at Coventry station, said, “Our customers are really starting to see the benefit of the new station. Easier access, improved facilities, and now the start of the retail transformation with the arrival of Sainsbury’s, with more shops to follow later this year.

“We’re also just about to open our new Courtyard area on Platform 1, offering our customers a place to relax while they wait for their trains.”

Sainsbury’s local Coventry Station Local is the latest addition to the retailer’s extensive portfolio of stores that can be found in train stations throughout the UK. Prior to its Coventry Station store, Sainsbury’s recently opened a new local in London Waterloo Station earlier this year.
