The store aspires to be a significant part of the neighborhood, and Community Champion Esther Moorhead has already met with neighbourhood organisations while the store has been under building. Email Esther at champion.greatpark@morrisonsplc.co.uk if your community organisation wants to promote itself to the store.
Additionally, the store has a Community Room that provides free meeting space for neighbourhood organisations like charities, reading clubs, craft groups, and gaming communities. Anyone wanting to reserve the room should get in touch with Esther. The room is intended to help community organisations manage the rising cost of renting out meeting spaces.
“We know the residents of Great Park have been eagerly anticipating the opening of this store,” said Ian Brocklehurst, Morrisons Great Park shop Manager. They now have a brand-new Morrisons shop with expert food preparation at its core and a wealth of helpful services. We anticipate welcoming clients and hope they enjoy it.
The managing director of Persimmon North East, Stuart Grimes, said: “It’s wonderful to be here to commemorate yet another important turning point for Great Park. Residents of Great Park and surrounding areas will benefit from this fantastic new facility, and shoppers can reach the new store via the newly opened new link road to Kingston Park.
“Great Park is a great place to live, work, and raise a family with the continued growth of the Great Park town center, two schools, a nursery, and further amenities to come.”
Jack Thompson from Gateshead, who was chosen for his outstanding work with Young Lives VS Cancer, will perform the formal opening of the store. Local dignitaries came to the shop before it opened to meet the manager and his new staff.
