Sprouts Targets Growth in Private Label Sales

Sprouts targets growth in private label sales! Sprouts Farmers Market wrapped up its financial year in style, boasting a 7% rise in net sales from the previous year, with its burgeoning private label collection playing a key role in this success.

Expansion of Sprouts Brand Products

In 2023, the health-focused grocer unveiled a plethora of new offerings, making up about 15% of its total product range. This included 400 fresh items under the Sprouts brand, highlighted by Jack Sinclair, the company’s CEO, during a discussion on the annual and quarterly financial outcomes.

The holiday season witnessed a surge in Sprout’s brand popularity, with customers enjoying a variety of festive products, including delicious sweets, aromatic herb teas, and peppermint-infused body care items. These seasonal delights helped push Sprouts Brand sales to make up 21% of the total fourth-quarter revenue.

Looking Forward: Innovation and Expansion in 2024

Sprouts is not resting on its laurels in 2023; it’s pushing ahead with more innovations for Sprouts Brand in 2024. Sinclair emphasized the expansion of their private label range as a cornerstone of their strategy for growth.

“Our ambition is to spearhead the health-centric retail sector,” Sinclair shared. “We’re aiming to spark more innovation in Sprouts Brand and throughout our stores, earn greater loyalty from our core customers, enhance our supply chain, cultivate a top-tier team, and develop outstanding stores.”

Enhancing Customer Engagement and Store Growth in Private Label Sales

The strategy for Sprouts Brand includes rolling out new products and enlarging the seasonal offerings, with a focus on in-store innovation hubs and customer engagement through product sampling.

Sinclair expressed optimism about 2024, aiming to attract health-conscious consumers and increase sales from loyal customers by emphasizing trust and value in Sprouts Brand products.

Beyond its private-label expansion, Sprouts is keen on growing its store network. The company kicked off the year by opening four new locations, with a plan to launch 35 stores in total.

With a solid plan for more than 100 approved store openings and nearly 70 signed leases, Sprouts is set on enhancing its site selection strategy to ensure sustained growth.
