Ahold Delhaize is ecstatic to announce that our fantastic regional brand in the United States, Food Lion, has been honoured by Newsweek as one of the best workplaces in the United States for its commitment to diversity. Food Lion is dedicated to promoting an atmosphere that is varied and welcoming to all employees, one in which they may have a sense of belonging and are free to be themselves without fear of judgement.
According to Linda Johnson, Food Lion’s Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Communications, “The work we undertake to assist and celebrate our associates is a continuing focus as part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.” The fact that Food Lion has been recognised as an excellent place to work by Newsweek highlights how important it is to continue to do so. Our employees are the beating heart of Food Lion, and they are a representation of the many different towns and cities that we serve.
The study evaluated the importance of diversity in the workplaces of one thousand different organisations across the United States. The list was compiled by Newsweek in collaboration with Plant-A Insights Group using information that was readily available to the public, in-depth interviews with Human Resources specialists, and the results of a comprehensive employee survey. Questions about topics such as corporate culture, the climate of the workplace, and others were posed to respondents.
According to the findings of a recent poll, Food Lion, which is part of the Consumer sector, is one of the businesses that truly respects and values the various types of individuals that work for it across all six economic sectors.
