Davidson Prize is awarded to AGCO’s Precision Planting® for its Radicle AgronomicsTM solution.

Exceptional innovation and effect on agricultural systems are recognised by a prestigious award, which is the third in a succession for AGCO companies.

GA DULUTH | The Radicle AgronomicsTM solution from Precision Planting®, a brand of AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO), a leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, was awarded the Davidson Prize for extraordinary innovation and impact in agricultural systems. Professional growers can use Radicle Agronomics’ tools and the world’s first completely automated soil laboratory to manage soil nutrients more precisely, effectively, and efficiently.

In accepting the prize on behalf of Precision Planting, Dale Koch, senior manager for product engineering, said, “AGCO and Precision Planting are very honoured to receive the Davidson Prize – it reflects the farmer-first focus our engineers and agronomists bring to work every day.”

Radicle Agronomics is a new generation of tools that enables professionals to precisely test hundreds of unattended samples and replace manual, error-prone processes with the Radicle LabTM automated soil laboratory’s integrated small footprint, streamlined workflows, and self-calibration technology. The GeoPressTM collection module mounts on any field-ready vehicle, and by autonomously blending and storing soil samples in georeferenced, reusable containers, it does away with record-keeping and bag handling. GeoPress and Radicle Lab use the smooth transition of cloud-based software to align all phases of the field-to-lab process, enabling agronomists to provide their customers with superior nutrient management advice.

The three top-scoring AE50 award winners receive the Davidson Prize, given by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM), in recognition of their outstanding innovation and significant engineering advancement in agriculture. More than any other manufacturer and more than any other AGCO brand in company history, the family of AGCO brands received ten AE50 awards in 2023. The IDEAL® AutoDockTM header docking system (2021) and Fendt® Rogator® (2022) previously won the Davidson Prize, which is now awarded to Radicle Agronomics for the third consecutive year.
