Nutri-Grain® & Kroger Unite Against Childhood Hunger in Ohio

As the summer season approaches and children eagerly count on the end of the school year, millions of kids throughout the USA face a harsh fact: hunger. For many kids who depend on faculty meals as their primary source of vitamins, the summer months can be the hungriest time of the year.

Recognizing this urgent issue, Nutri-Grain® and Kroger have teamed up to make a considerable contribution of $50,000 to No Kid Hungry, a nonprofit corporation committed to ending formative years of hunger.

Childhood Hunger in Ohio

The generous donation from Nutri-Grain® and Kroger aims to ensure that every child in Ohio has access to nutritious food during the summer, allowing them to grow, analyze, and thrive. No Kid Hungry works tirelessly with numerous corporations, colleges, and community agencies across the kingdom, which includes the Children’s Hunger Alliance and Ohio School-Based Health Alliance, to cope with meal insecurity amongst youngsters.

When the final college bell rings,  thousands of youngsters are cut off from the wholesome meals they acquire every day. This gap is especially evident in rural communities, in which entry to summer meal packages can be restricted. Shockingly, facts reveal that traditional summertime meal packages typically attain fewer than one in seven children who rely on free or decreased-fee meals at some stage in the college year.

Sarah Reinecke, VP of Portable Wholesome Snacks in Kelanova, expressed pride in being part of the solution to childhood hunger: “Today, 1 in 5 young people face hunger. It won’t matter, and we are proud. ” Happy summer deserves it ”. Renek emphasized the importance of partnering with partners like Kroger and No Kid Hungry to help households experiencing hunger and sell Good Days to Ohio groups

This year, No Kid Hungry’s efforts will increase food availability in slums and children’s homes through breeding or choice, and dispose of the desire of children to journey into factory life. In addition, eligible families will receive Summer EBT, a cooking benefit application designed to provide certain college-aged youth with essential vitamins. These programs can help more than 3 million children across the United States.

Mark Bruce, director of corporate affairs for Kroger’s Columbus division, expressed gratitude for the partnership with Nutri-Grain® and No Kid Hungry, emphasizing Kroger’s commitment to ending hunger in the communities it serves. Bruce discussed the collective efforts to effectively address childhood hunger, naming, “Kroger stands as an organization in our efforts to end hunger in the communities we serve, and we recognize that we.” itself cannot be” is terrible.”.

In addition to addressing immediate hunger needs, the partnership between Nutri-Grain®, Kroger, and No Kid Hungry underscores Nutri-Grain®’s commitment to nutrition for communities.
