The Round Rock Independent School District Police Department has adopted the Oracle Public Safety Suite to enhance connectivity and information access across its 55 campuses and more than 47,000 students. This move aims to provide a safer and more efficient environment for student success.
Oracle Boosts Safety Suite: Round Rock Police
In a bid to modernize its technology, the department, which operates as a volunteer agency in the region, sought to improve agility and responsiveness. Their objective was to ensure a smooth flow of information among logistics, management, and decision-makers.
After a thorough evaluation, Oracle was selected for its comprehensive hardware and software suite, which promised to meet the department’s needs. Dennis Weiner, Chief of Police for the Round Rock Independent School District Police Department, highlighted Oracle’s innovative approach as a key factor in their decision.
Weiner praised the Oracle suite for its ability to enhance school security and law enforcement efficiency, describing it as a significant improvement in information flow during critical situations. Deployed in September, the Oracle Public Safety Suite integrates services from the Dispatch Command Center, Personal Communication System, Vehicle Communication System, and Records Management System. This integration allows officers to switch devices seamlessly across various locations while ensuring continuous interaction.
The system streamlines report generation by recording context and interactions, saving time on paperwork and allowing officers to focus on their fieldwork. Additionally, it facilitates communication with the State of Texas National Incident Reporting System and the FBI, ensuring timely crime report delivery.
Steve Cioen, Senior Director of Public Safety at Oracle, affirmed Oracle’s commitment to enhancing safety and productivity for first responders. He emphasized the importance of rapid responses to school incidents and praised the collaboration with the Round Rock Independent School District Police Department to tailor Oracle’s technology to law enforcement needs.
