Hinojosa Packaging Galeria Grafica has once again proven their mettle, earning the Spanish packaging disruptor a decoration in Europe. Their stunning design for a perfume collection won them the reputable ‘Carton of the Year’ award at the European Carton Excellence Awards 2024 in Berlin.
Like the Academy Awards, the yearly event collects a multitude of submissions from all over Europe that have to be assessed with respect to design, sustainability, and ease of use for the package. This contest is also known as the Oscars of folding carton packaging awards. Judges had their work cut out for them.
Hinojosa’s creation however, stood out from the crowd. The winning design used inner printing as well as side die cutting and embossing to create a three dimensional effect for Laboratorios Flor Natural Parfums’ Origen collection.
A Rainbow of Fragrances
These packages boast equally of smart designs as well as pretty ones. Hinojosa Packaging Galeria Grafica developed seven models of the collection that when displayed together form a beautiful colorful scene that captures the attention of anyone around.
This enhances the concept of looking good on the shelf. It goes beyond that, showing how stunning and practical packaging can actually be. They protect the product, while also marketing it.
Juan Perez, the lead designer at Hinojosa, shared his thoughts. “We tried to do something unique,” he said. “Something that would require two or more looks to appreciate. I think we achieved it.”

At the awards, participants were excited and anxious to debate about the use of cardboard as a sustainable packaging material. It seems to fulfill all requirements from common products to luxury items.
