FPAA Welcomes New Produce Industry Experts

In a recent announcement, the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) revealed the addition of two experienced entrepreneurs, John Toner and Phil Grusska, to its team as Director of Business Development

Known for his former work with the United Fresh Produce Association and the International Fresh Produce Association, John Toner contributes extensive experience to these organizations, particularly as vice president for political affairs. Toner is also a driving force behind Toner Insights, a consulting firm known for its expertise in trade show, exhibition planning, and event marketing Toner Insights has committed to collaborating with the Fresh Produce Association Americas, focusing on companies in the eastern Pacific region and international companies.

Expressing excitement about his new role, Toner said, “I’m excited to work with agencies to foster improved work conditions and faster travel inspection times. It’s exciting to support FPAA’s efforts to expand its reach, “remaining across the country.”

Phil Grusska, another notable addition, brings Grimway Farms expertise and a history of organic support. In 2011, he founded Gruszka Consulting, a California-based consulting firm primarily providing marketing and sales solutions to the food and beverage industry His firm is dedicated to supporting Fresh Produce Association Americas member companies in the Pacific region, including California, Oregon, and Washington countries, among others.

Gruska stressed the importance of the FPAA’s role in the industry, noting, “With the huge investment by Western companies in Mexican imports, it is through the association’s commitment to continue that it has worked so well on the border. Partnership with the Fresh Produce Association Americas is a way to protect this interest.

The FPAA also outlined its revised tasks following the strategic inspection, including providing market access for imported fruits and vegetables and identifying Toner and Gruska with government officials advocated for industry stakeholders, as a way to strengthen the organization’s membership and enhance its advocacy efforts.
