Zaandam, Netherlands, January 8, 2025 – Ahold Delhaize has announced a significant leadership change at Profi, its newly acquired Romanian brand. Mihai Spulber, currently Senior Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain at Mega Image, will assume the role of Brand President effective July 1, 2025.
This transition follows the decision of Gaetan Pacton, the current Brand President, to step down after 13 years of dedicated service. Pacton played a pivotal role in Profi’s expansion across Romania and its integration into the Ahold Delhaize family, which now includes 17 brands spanning Europe, the U.S., and Indonesia.
Claude Sarrailh, CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe & Indonesia, praised Pacton’s leadership. “Gaetan has been instrumental in enhancing Profi’s reputation for providing high-quality, affordable products to customers. We thank him for his dedication during the acquisition process.”
On Mihai’s appointment, Sarrailh remarked, “Mihai brings deep knowledge of the Romanian market, combined with experience in finance, store operations, and supply chain management. His leadership will ensure continuity and stability.”

Meanwhile, Pacton shared a heartfelt farewell. “After 13 years, I leave Profi with pride and gratitude. Profi’s achievements are a testament to the hard work of our team. Under Mihai’s leadership, I am confident Profi will continue to thrive.”
To ensure a smooth leadership transition, Pacton will remain at the helm for the next six months, working closely with Spulber and the Profi team. This collaboration will facilitate continuity and ensure business operations proceed seamlessly.
