Waitrose Invests £10M in Price Cuts for Duchy Organic Products

Waitrose continues its mission to make premium food accessible by investing £10 million in price cuts across nearly 250 No.1 and Duchy Organic products. This latest move builds on the retailer’s previous efforts, bringing its total investment in price reductions to £140 million over the last 18 months.

In the first phase of this price-cut campaign, Waitrose will reduce prices on over 80 No.1 products and 45 Duchy Organic products. This marks the sixth time since February 2023 that the company has cut prices on hundreds of items, making premium and organic products more affordable for a wide range of customers.

Waitrose’s Commercial Director, Charlotte Di Cello, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering quality food at accessible prices. She stated, “Our food-loving customers come to Waitrose to experience the best—from exceptional flavors to top-quality ingredients. This investment helps them access No.1 and Duchy Organic products, which they already love.”

The timing of these Waitrose price cuts aligns perfectly with Organic Month in September, encouraging more customers to explore the Duchy Organic products. These reductions aim to attract shoppers who want to enjoy organic, responsibly sourced food without compromising on quality.

The retailer has been aggressive in its pricing strategy, having already reduced the prices of nearly 1,400 products since the beginning of 2023. This approach has slashed costs by over 7% across various categories, further strengthening Waitrose’s position in the competitive premium retail market.

With this £10 million investment, Waitrose solidifies its role as a retailer focused on both quality and value. The Waitrose price cuts apply to both in-store and online purchases, ensuring that all customers benefit from these new, lower prices.
