Speaking to members of the media, Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group Dr. Yusuff Ali M A extended his best wishes to the Amir of Qatar, H. H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as the government of Qatar and the people of Qatar for the tremendous success of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Regarding Lulu’s participation in the World Cup, he stated that the Lulu Hypermarket had dedicated a team of 220 employees to the event in order to serve the fans of various nationalities in a more effective manner and to provide quality foods that were tailored to their preferences.
“By the Grace of God, we were successful in putting our plan into action, as there was neither a shortage of food products nor an increase in prices in Qatar while the event was taking place. This is in accordance with what we guaranteed prior to the World Cup,” explained Dr. Yusuff Ali.
When asked about the new store in Al Dhakhira, he stated that it is a component of an expansion plan that Lulu Group is working on to reach customers in other parts of the country. Dr. Yusuff shared with us that “We have also planned to open six more outlets within the next year.”
According to Dr. Mohamed Althaf, Director of Lulu Group International, the plan for Lulu is to reach out to the greatest number of people in Qatar by opening new stores in their respective localities, thereby reducing the amount of time those individuals spend travelling.
“The new outlet will serve the residents of Al Dhakhira and its suburbs in addition to an expected growing population in the near future following the North Field Expansion (NFE) development plan of mega liquefied natural gas (LNG) trains,” said Dr. Althaf.
“The new outlet will serve the residents of Al Dhakhira and its suburbs in addition to the expected growing population in the near future.”
During the World Cup, he had this to say about Lulu’s business: “We received an overwhelming response from customers, especially fans.” The provision of high-quality food in substantial quantities was our primary mission in order to fulfil our obligation to the patrons who had travelled from all over the world.
We were successful in executing our plan, as there was neither a shortage of food nor any increase in the cost of said food at any point during the event.
