Tesco Director Martin Kuruc Becomes President of BLF Association

September 04 Slovakia – Martin Kuruc, Tesco director, has been elected the president of the Business Leaders Forum (BLF) association. This is the first instance that the head of Tesco Slovakia has filled this position. For the tes two year, Kuruc will manage the BLF within a network of companies that maintain a responsible approach towards business activities. During his presidency, he will focus on foremost issues like diversity, inclusion, and ecology.

Martin Kuruc’s Inclusion Vision as Tesco Director

Kuruc noted the necessity of creating an inclusive atmosphere in the business landscape of Slovakia. “In the setting of contrasting opinions, inclusion and diversity become the central pillars aimed at creating equality and effective dialogue,” stated Kuruc. In his capacity as CEO of Tesco, Kuruc has taken decesions to implement these actions. In 2021, Tesco became the first organization in Slovakia to release an inclusive and comprehensive report about the state of inclusion, diversity, and equality.

Such sense of inclusion transcends the boundaries of most businesses, which is intended by Kuruc. He hopes that other businesses would seek to create a more inclusive organizational culture. According to him, both courteous behavior inside organizations as well as outside the organizations calls for a diverse and inclusively rich culture.

Kuruc’s appointment as president comes during a delicate period for Slovakia, as he strives to overcome societal fissures. He aims to rally the business world to coalesce around common ideals. “To improve Slovakia, several players must work together—companies, the state, civil society, and non-profits. For the Slovakia, we together can offer a better place for our employees, clients, and the society,” Kuruc said.

A Strong Focus on Environmental Sustainability

These two pillars of sustainability is also within the domain of Kuruc’s responsibilities as the president of the Business Leaders Forum association. His commitment cross Tesco as a company indicates legacy of assisting the environment. “We have been looking at climate issues from 2009, and we still work on climate concerns like food waste and sustainable packaging,” Kuruc said.

The BLF is headquartered in Slovakia and is the leading association which brings together companies willing to implement responsible business practices. Among them are curbing emissions from transport, healthy and natural food for people and the earth, and waste reduction. According to Kuruc, the joint efforts from multiple companies is needed to achieve real environmental objectives.

Founded by the Pontis Foundation, the BLF is an association, after offer a unique platform for doing and learning responsible business. Now they have 53 member companies which aim to freely share their work and ideas for implementing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.

Understanding Change for Tomorrow

President at the Forum of Business Leaders Association, Kuruc is committed to initiating change for the better. During his presidency, he will also tackle the issues of women’s participation in the labor force, the wage gap, and the inclusion of the medically and socially vulnerable. All of these campaigns will be aimed at the elderly, youth, LGBTQ+ individuals, and more.

Kuruc’s final words were, “I am sure that the BLF will keep being an active/operator as a responsible business in the upcoming years.” These companies will have a very powerful impact during his reign, not only in the region but on society as a whole.
