One of Norway’s most well-known food bloggers and SPAR have teamed up to develop a weekly menu that uses no food waste. The SPAR nation organisation tasked Marit Rttingsnes Westlie, a.k.a. Mrs. Timian, a food blogger, with coming up with a weekly menu that was both inspiring and waste-free.
Good planning and sticking to one day each week for shopping are two of Marit’s most helpful suggestions for reducing the amount of food that is wasted.
“I would recommend making use of foods that are in season and making certain that a variety of the same side dishes and veggies are used in each of the different recipes. You are, however, free to change the recipe’s primary components,” suggests Marit.
She describes the menu she has created in collaboration with SPAR Norway as down to earth, with simple dishes suitable for most people.
Tips for reducing food waste offered by Mrs. Timian:
Utilize ingredients that are in season and rotate the same vegetables throughout the meals you prepare.
Before you head out to the store, take a look at what you already have stored in the refrigerator.
The leftovers from dinner make excellent options for lunches to go.
