SPAR Supermarkets in Gran Canaria collected food donations from May 24 to 26 to help the Las Palmas Food Bank. This campaign supports families in need.
Long Tradition of Giving
For over 25 years, SPAR Gran Canaria has been donating food. In 2023, they collected over 61,000 kilos of food during two campaigns.
Volunteer Support
A total of 374 volunteers helped collect food in stores. Their efforts are vital to the success of these campaigns.
Most Needed Items
The food bank needs essential items like:
- Oil
- Milk
- Canned fish and meat
- Legumes
- Rice
- Pasta
- Water
- Coffee
- Cocoa
These items can be found in SPAR stores across the island.
Delivery of Donations
The donated food was packed onto 26 pallets and 75 rolltainers for delivery to the Las Palmas Food Bank.
Additional Support
Besides food drives, SPAR Gran Canaria held two product gift campaigns this year. They gave out 1,700 SPAR products worth €71,000 to families.
