Schipkau obtains new no-gut market

About a year and a half after the No & Gut store at Friedrich-Engels-Straße 38 was forced to close, there are ideas for the future of the location, including the following: In close collaboration with EDEKA Minden-Hannover, the regional development company Wohnresidenz Schipkau GmbH intends to construct a contemporary full-range store with a total sales area of 1,200 square meters and approximately 75 parking spaces.

The store will have a total sales area of 1,200 square meters. “There is still a significant distance to travel. We will start the concrete urban land-use planning in the coming days, and we will present the first results to the public as quickly as we can.

“Robert Müller, Managing Director of Wohnresidenz Schipkau GmbH, was the one to make the statement. In addition, Josef Meier, who is also the Managing Director of Wohnresidenz Schipkau GmbH, notes that “according to the current status, we are assuming that the new shop can open in the winter of 2025/2026.”

The Schipkau municipal council, which supported the initial resolutions with a huge majority vote, is providing the impetus for these plans to move forward. In addition, the responsible authorities of the state and the district have expressed their agreement.

The previous proprietor, Lothar Beutler, stopped running the no & gut market around the turn of the century (2021-2022) due to age-related concerns; there was no immediate successor at the time. Expansion Manager at EDEKA Minden-Hannover Paul Fieseler had this to say about the Beutlers:

“We would like to thank the Beutlers for their many years of devotion to Schipkau and the local supply of the inhabitants.” “We now want to continue the old tradition and offer our customers a market on the site of the old GDR department store with a wide range of goods, from products at discount price level to branded goods and Schipkau obtains new no & gut market
