Sainsbury’s is opening a new neighborhood store in Colchester.
Sainsbury’s is bringing good food to Mile End, Colchester, with a new convenience store. The store, named Sainsbury’s Colchester Via Urbis Romane Local, is the first grocery store in the Northern Gateway Development.
Operating from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, this 3,000-square-foot store offers a range of Sainsbury’s high-quality food, drinks, and general merchandise. From freshly baked bread to fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish, the store aims to provide convenience and choice to Mile End residents.
Alongside a Costa Coffee machine, customers can use a Click & Collect service for Sainsbury’s Argos, Habitat, and Tu Clothing brands while shopping for groceries. The SmartShop app makes shopping and payment easier via mobile devices.
This store’s opening created 20 new jobs and supports local causes by redistributing surplus food through the Neighbourly partnership.
Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s Property Director, emphasized their commitment to making tasty, well-sourced food accessible. Store Manager Ellie Connolly expressed excitement about serving the Mile End community and bringing Sainsbury’s products and service closer to more people in Colchester.
