Penny Italia expands its presence in Rome.

Penny makes new investments in the capital’s region. In fact, as of today, March 25, 2023, two additional Penny stores will open in Rome, specifically at 160-166 Via Alessandria and 101 Via Santa Croce in Gerusalemme in the historic Esquilino neighborhood, bringing the total number of stores in the city to three.

The characteristics that unite the two points of sale, each of which has about 250 square meters of sales space, are quality, convenience, a focus on local products, and attention to regional specialties.
The store’s layout calls for a food and non-food selection that is in keeping with the brand’s quality and convenience, as well as a 75% Italian product selection that pays particular attention to regionalism and local production.

The launch of the new PENNY stores includes an organic group of about 12 employees, including some stage-based training programs, underscoring once more the significance of the internal training programs held at PENNY.

Penny pays close attention to sustainability as part of its “VIVIAMO SOSTENIBILE” marketing strategy, ensuring that all of its new retail locations will engage in food waste prevention activities, respect for the environment, and social responsibility with valued partners using a responsible and innovative approach.

The points of sale will be open to the public from Monday through Saturday, from 08:00 to 21:00.
9 a.m. to 20 p.m. on Dominica.

PENNY, a discount grocery chain owned by the REWE group, is one of the top commercial groups operating in the GDO sector in both the German and European markets.

With the introduction of the new formula “assortimento di qualità, marca e prezzi bassi,” Insegna marked a moment of extraordinary change in the world of Italian bargain shopping in 1994.

At a national level, it is present on the ground with more than 430 sales points distributed throughout Italy’s major regions, and it is now growing quickly, with a profit per square meter that is more than the industry average.

Internationally, it is successfully present in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Romania. The group’s main goal is to satisfy its customers, who are promised not only a wide selection of high-quality products at competitive prices but also welcoming and comfortable points of sale for quick and simple payment. The private label product lines from PENNY Italy value place, regionalism, and being made in Italy. The company, which has more than 4602 employees, 62% of whom are women, has been advancing real sustainability initiatives in the social and environmental spheres for years. The “Revisionsverband der Westkaufgenossenschaften” (also known as REWE) was founded in 1927 by 17 purchasing cooperatives with the goal of organizing cooperative food purchases. The cooperative has an international presence now and enjoys success in both the tourism and fine-tuning sales sectors. As a cooperative with a history spanning more than 90 years, we are aware of our social and environmental responsibility in light of upcoming generations. We are trying to prevent a sustainable future from being lost.

The REWE Group is the industry leader in both German and European commerce and tourism. Currently, it employs more than 384.000 dependents and closed the year 2022 with a profit of more than 84,8 million euros, with about 16,000 points of sale and agencies around the world.

His product lines include supermarkets and shops selling consumer goods run by the REWE, REWE CENTRE, REWE CITY, BILLA, DIY, and, of course, discount PENNY brands. For further information, please visit https://www.rewe-group.com/en/
