PEB and EPTH Achieve Platinum Recognition for Responsible Business Practices

-

The major industrial facilities of Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, “Epson”) operate as PT. Epson Batam (PEB) and Epson Precision (Thailand) Ltd. (EPTH) received platinum status recognition from the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP). Two Epson manufacturing facilities, including PT. Epson Batam (PEB) and Epson Precision (Thailand) Ltd. (EPTH) received the highest recognition status of Platinum from the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated Assessment Program (VAP). Independent third-party audits served as the basis for awarding platinum recognition to Epson because of its global supply chain CSR dedication.

Commitment To Excellence In Responsible Manufacturing

The RBA welcomed Epson in April 2019 while the company has maintained its superior CSR standards through multiple voluntary VAP site audits at its core operation facilities. Independent RBA-certified assessment organizations conduct evaluations of all critical RBA Code of Conduct points including labor practices and health and safety and environmental sustainability as well as ethical standards.

Organizations win the Platinum recognition because they earn the maximum VAP score of 200 while completing all their Priority, Major and Minor findings through their audit process. The accomplishment of PEB and EPTH demonstrates their dedication to delivering outstanding responsible business practices.

These assessments provide both international ethical standard verification to Epson as well as demonstrating its role as a leader in ecologically sustainable production methods. The recognition process validates that Epson production sites fulfill all stringent criteria relating to waste management and carbon footprint reduction and fair labor standards.

Global Achievements In Sustainability

The commitment of Epson toward ethical sustainable production is evident in facilities located across Indonesia and Malaysia as well as Thailand and China and the Philippines. The Platinum Recognition honors the company’s commitment to keep production processes environmentally and socially responsible.

Epson production sites across several facilities received either Gold or Platinum ratings under the VAP framework as the company implements its enduring move toward sustainable environmental practices and safe workplaces as well as ethical business operations. The recognition awards position Epson as a leading company in corporate social responsibility practice across the global technology field and manufacturing industry landscape.

Epson stays dedicated to following RBA standards according to Akifumi Takei who serves as Executive Officer and General Administrative Manager of the Production Planning Division. Epson focuses on sustainability to create an enriching society by continuing its work with RBA’s VAP thus ensuring that people and the environment remain central considerations in every Epson product made available to customers and stakeholders with full assurance.
