Partners from SPAR Spain improve distribution and retail services

SPAR Spain partner Grupo Upper in Cartagena recently inaugurated a new refrigerated warehouse, which resulted in the creation of 65 new positions within the organisation.

A further expansion of team members is being undertaken by the partner company Fragadis,

which is situated in Tarragona and is recruiting extra team members for the coastal region stores in preparation for the approaching summer season.

Grupo Upper opens refrigerated DC

SPAR Spain partner Grupo Upper unveiled its new Distribution Centre (DC) for chilled goods on April 13 in the industrial district of Los Camachos Sur in Cartagena.

The DC serves as a distribution centre for chilled goods.

There are currently 65 people working in this brand-new temperature-controlled warehouse.

The fruit and vegetable chambers, refrigerated chambers, and fish chambers that were formerly located in the DC of the Cabezo Beaza Industrial Estate and in C/Andrés Cegarra Cayuela,

La Unión, have been moved to the new distribution centre, which has a surface area of 5,000m2 and a capacity of 16,000m3.

Office space has been incorporated inside the newly constructed warehouse.

The President and the General Manager of Grupo Upper S.C. were present for the opening ceremony,

together with the managers and team members from the operations department.

The presence of the Mayoress of Cartagena at the inauguration event was a tremendous honour for the company.

The EUROSPAR Supermarkets, SPAR Supermarkets, and SPAR Express stores that are owned and operated by the SPAR partner can be found in the urban regions surrounding Alicante, Granada, Murcia, and Albacete.

The Fragadis team gets stronger for the summer season.
SPAR Spain partner Fragadis presently has more than 2,300 employees working in its stores.

Over the past few months, the company has also hired more than

50 new members to its staff in order to accommodate the anticipated rise in the number of customers in tourist destinations throughout the summer months.

Over the next few weeks, there will be a greater number of people taken on as new hires.

The seasonal employees will be able to provide assistance in the areas of fresh food, working at the point of sale, and stocking.

The seasonal team members of the SPAR Spain partner are offered the same working circumstances as the permanent staff members.

These conditions include a healthy work-life balance as well as discounts on purchases made in any of the company’s supermarkets by using their employee card.

The Spanish SPAR partner has a significant presence in the provinces of Tarragona, Castellón, and Alicante,

with stores located in well-known tourist spots along the Costa Blanca.

Some of these locations include Salou, Cambrils, Calpe, Ganda, Benidorm, and Alcossebre.
