Mission Produce Launches Retail-Ready Mango Bags at NYPS

Mission Produce, a global leader in fresh Hass avocados, is entering the mango category with a new product launch at the New York Produce Show (NYPS) 2024. From December 10–12, Mission will showcase its retail-ready mango bags at booth #108, marking an exciting expansion of its fresh produce offerings.

Game-Changing Mango Packs

The retail-ready mango bags feature a 4-count value pack of snacking mangos sourced from Mission’s vertically integrated farm in Olmos, Peru. These bags are designed for convenience, offering a high-graphic, stand-up pouch that is easy to merchandise in-store and perfect for grab-and-go shoppers.

“We believe this product is a game-changer for the mango category,” said Diana McClean, Director of Marketing & Communications. “It’s an innovative solution created through the collaborative efforts of our R&D, Quality Assurance, and Global Packaging teams. These value packs will drive mango consumption and create added value for our retail partners.”

The mango bags will officially hit stores in January 2025, timed with peak consumer demand for healthy eating and New Year’s resolutions. Mission’s mango bags will also be featured in the NYPS New Product Showcase.

Supporting Seasonal Demand

Mission Produce is gearing up for a busy winter season, aligning its mango and avocado offerings with key retail moments. January will focus on healthy eating campaigns, while February targets the Big Game, the largest avocado consumption event of the year.

Last January, avocado volume sales rose 16% compared to December, showcasing the potential for seasonal promotions. By pairing avocados and mangos in its programs, Mission is poised to maximize engagement with shoppers seeking fresh, healthy, and convenient options.

Looking Ahead to 2025

With its innovative mango product and a strong avocado program, Mission Produce is ready for an exciting 2025. “Between Big Game planning, healthy eating promotions, and the launch of our retail-ready mango bags, we’re entering a season full of opportunity,” McClean added.
