Mercadona, demonstrating its support for and solidarity with the Ukrainian people, is donating 1.5 million euros to help refugees from the war in Ukraine. This support will be provided from June to December in the form of €50 Society Cards, with the aim of covering the basic expenses of refugees arriving in Spain and Portugal at any of our stores. Through this collaboration, Mercadona expects to be able to help around 5,000 refugees.

The company will issue these cards through authorised entities within the official reception plans for displaced persons from Ukraine in Spain and Portugal.

At the same time, this support will be complemented by donations of essential products to Reception, Assistance and Referral Centres (CREADE) for Ukrainian refugees located in different parts of Spain, based on the needs communicated to the company by these centres.
