Maersk plans to construct its first environmentally friendly and high-tech flagship logistics center in Lingang, Shanghai.
At the end of December 2022, Maersk signed the land grant contract with the administrative committee of the Lin-gang new area of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone.
The arrival of Maersk’s first “green” and “smart” flagship logistics center in China has been officially celebrated here. It is anticipated that the project will begin full-scale operations in the third quarter of 2024, with a total investment of 174 million US dollars.
The flagship Lin-gang logistics center is planned to have a total warehousing storage area of 150,000 square meters and will cover an area of approximately 113,000 square meters. It will be comprised of four ramped, three-story-high standard warehouses and one 24-meter-high warehouse with an automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS).
Customers will be offered a comprehensive selection of value-added logistics services, as well as international export consolidation, regional and global order fulfillment and distribution, cross-border e-commerce, and other value-added logistics options.
Maersk is constantly working to improve its logistics capabilities in order to provide customers all over the world with comprehensive, end-to-end solutions.
The Maersk global network is extremely dependent on Shanghai’s performance. Because of Lin-Close’s proximity to Yangshan Port and the city’s pro-free trade policies, our flagship logistics center will be able to offer solutions that are both adaptable and sustainable, thereby connecting and simplifying the supply chains of our customers.
We are committed to maintaining our investment in China, which will help strengthen both the competitiveness of Shanghai as a global shipping and logistics hub and the overall stability of global supply chains.
