Knut Ellekjær announced to leave Cermaq Norway – Kristin Hurum to take over as head of Cermaq. Yes, It is true! Knut Ellekjær (63) has decided resign from Cermaq Group, after 8 years as head of Cermaq Norway’s operations.
Knut explains that it is time to pass the baton, stating “After 8 years, it is the right time to pass the baton on. It has been fantastic years in a competent and committed organization, with major investments and turnover. We have designed and are now launching a new strategy for the coming years, and it is natural that this will be continued with a new leader. While this change may seem opportunistic at the end of my working years, I’m glad it Hurum – one of our own ranks – has been chosen to take over the role.”
Corresponding with the professional qualifications of Hurum’s profile, she graduated in Business Organization and worked for several years in banking and consulting prior to joining Cermaq. After starting her career in Cermaq Group as a Sustainability Manager, she has held various positions in advancement in sustainability and maintenance of quality. Kristin has been with the company for 14 years, and currently holds the position of Director of Human Resources, Quality, and Sustainability.
“I am happy to take the opportunity to lead Cermaq Norway. The main reason I have accepted this role is because we have a very strong team with talented individuals.” Hurum continues, “People are crucial because they drive the results. Our goals are exciting, and so is the strategy with focus on fish welfare, people, and sustainability.”
