Johan Boeijenga will no longer serve as the brand president of Super Indo, according to Ahold Delhaize.

Netherlands, Zaandam, February 10, 2023 – Johan Boeijenga will leave his position as Super Indo’s brand president on March 31, 2023, according to Ahold Delhaize. Super Indo, a joint venture between Ahold Delhaize and the Salim Group, is a fantastic local brand in Indonesia. After successfully heading Super Indo for five years through a trying time, Johan would prefer a better life balance between the Netherlands and Indonesia. He continues to be associated with Super Indo by helping them achieve their business goals. The process of finding a replacement has begun.

In 1988, Johan began working for the former Ahold Group as a logistics management trainee. In 1997, he joined the Ahold Indonesia board of directors, and in 2000, he was named CEO. He returned to Europe in 2003 and accepted the job of EVP Supply Chain at the Albert Heijn board. From 2006 to 2009, he served as President & CEO of Ahold Central Europe. Johan thereafter pursued retail CEO and COO activities outside of Ahold until returning to Ahold Delhaize in 2018 to take up the position of Brand President of Super Indo, a position he cherished.

“Johan has a long history with our firm, and I would like to thank him very warmly for all of his services over the last decades,” said Wouter Kolk, CEO of Ahold Delhaize Europe and Indonesia. Johan’s leadership style and character are demonstrated in his present position as Brand President: he always puts people first. He has provided Super Indo with fuel so that the expansion engine can be started. Johan presented an omnichannel method of thinking and working that is successful in the Indonesian market, which led to a considerable increase in the number of outlets. As a consequence of his emphasis on sustainability and wholesome eating, Super Indo was recognised with the Green Initiative Award in 2021 and 2022. He developed his standing in the neighbourhood and helped others in it, starting a Super Indo foundation that helped (among other causes) Super Indo families in need.
