Jerónimo Martins Group Invests €93 Million in Employee Bonuses

Jerónimo Martins Group is set to reward its 90,000 employees in Portugal, Poland, and Colombia, who work in stores and distribution centers, with special bonuses totaling €93 million.

This initiative was proposed by CEO Pedro Soares dos Santos and approved by the company’s board. The bonuses are a gesture of appreciation for the hard work and dedication of the staff throughout 2023, which contributed to the company’s strong performance during a challenging year.

Pedro Soares dos Santos stated, “We want to express our gratitude to our employees for their dedication and hard work. They were instrumental in helping us navigate a difficult year.”

In Portugal, each employee will receive an additional €100 on top of their regular salary, bringing the total to €850 per employee. Over 21,000 employees will benefit from these bonuses, amounting to around €19 million in total.

These bonuses are in addition to regular incentives and other benefits that support employees’ health, education, and family needs.

The Jerónimo Martins Group employs over 35,000 people in Portugal and approximately 134,000 across all its global operations. For more information, visit their official website www.jeronimomartins.com.
