This year’s donation will benefit the SOS Children’s Village in Altmünster, where many of the old structures have been replaced with new ones since the summer of last year. The assistance of INTERSPAR Austria will go towards the construction of a new family home.
There are eleven SOS Children’s Villages in Austria, and the nearest INTERSPAR Hypermarket sponsors one of the SOS Children’s Villages in Austria. “We hold our longstanding partnership with SOS Children’s Villages in the highest regard.
It is of utmost importance to us to raise awareness of young people in difficult situations through targeted campaigns and to be able to assist them, according to INTERSPAR Austria’s Managing Director, Johannes Holzleitner.
Since 1955, the SOS Children’s Village Altmunster in Upper Austria has been providing children and young people with a warm and caring environment to call home. At the time of writing, there were one hundred children and young adults living in the village, and its rehabilitation is now under process with the intention of providing these individuals with a carefree childhood. The eventual goal is to ensure that they are able to later begin a life of independence with the self-assurance and the strength necessary.
Throughout the years, INTERSPAR Austria has organised and run a number of different fundraising sales initiatives. Not only do SOS Children’s Villages gain from the proceeds of these campaigns, but they also benefit from the increased awareness they receive in the media and in society. According to Christian Moser, the Managing Director of SOS Children’s Villages Austria, “INTERSPAR Austria has been supporting us since 2004, and we are very grateful for this long-standing and reliable cooperation.”
INTERSPAR Austria has been a supporter of SOS Children’s Villages for the past nineteen years and has given the organisation close to €1.9 million in donations.
