In preparation for the anticipated surge in shoppers, LIDL reveals the best times to score a deal this bank holiday.

Following an outstanding start to 2023, Lidl GB is preparing for its busiest Easter ever as customers seek out high value without sacrificing quality.

The discounter, which was recently named the UK’s fastest growing supermarket, is expecting a spike in foot traffic this weekend after welcoming nearly one million new customers to its stores over the Easter weekend last year.

In order to help its customers prepare and choose the best times to shop, Lidl is counselling its customers about the ideal time to stock up on Easter necessities ahead of the bank holiday bonanza.

According to statistics, the busiest shopping hours over the Easter weekend last year were between 8am and 10am and from 6pm on. The busiest day for buying was Saturday; between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., stores saw the highest levels of foot traffic, which then began to decline as the afternoon wore on.

Additionally, the supermarket has stated that on Good Friday and Saturday, all of its locations in England and Wales will be open as usual until 10 p.m. On Easter Sunday, stores will be closed; they will reopen on the bank holiday Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Customers are advised to check the store finder on Lidl’s website for information on their local Lidl as some store opening hours may change.

Lidl’s well-liked Easter treats have already been stocked by customers, as candy purchases are up 11% from the previous year. The discounter’s Deluxe Marble Egg (£6.99), which was recently acknowledged by the Good Housekeeping Institute taste test, is one of the last-minute deals that shoppers can purchase before the bank holiday, which is only expected to increase demand. The Deluxe Apple and Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns (£1.39) and Deluxe West Country Lamb Leg (£9.99 per k/g) from its Easter line also won praise from the esteemed organisation.

Customers who use the Lidl Plus app have until Wednesday, April 5th, to claim one complimentary Favorina Easter treat when they spend more than £25 in a single store. On the app, you can also find more details about shop opening hours and other deals and discounts.
