Hanwell’s brand-new Sainsbury’s Local is now open to customers
Following the inauguration of the retailer’s most recent shop on Uxbridge Road, Sainsbury’s customers in Hanwell, west London, will get the opportunity to try out a brand-new Sainsbury’s Local starting today. This morning, coworkers and clients came to cut the ribbon and commemorate the opening of the new store.
The 2,451 square foot store, which is conveniently situated in Hanwell Town Centre, will assist and service customers from 7 am to 10 pm every day.
Residents, employees, and shoppers in the area will now be able to get a bite to eat from Sainsbury’s excellent selection of sandwiches and “meal to go” and a hot beverage from a self-service Costa coffee. Every day, fresh bread and pastries will be cooked in the shop, which will also feature a fantastic selection of high-quality, fresh food at low prices, fruit, and vegetables, as well as other household and grocery items.
Additionally, customers will be able to pick up items from the well-known companies Argos, Habitat, and Tu Clothing that they have ordered online and received via the in-store Click and Collect service.
The coworkers that make up the new store team will get involved in the neighbourhood as well as Sainsbury’s national charitable programmes and activities. For instance, the new Local will collaborate with regional food donation partners through Sainsbury’s partnership with Neighbourly to assist ensure that any excess food from the shop will go to those who need it the most.
I’m thrilled that we have now launched our second new Sainsbury’s shop of the week, this time for consumers in west London,” said Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s Property Director. We made an investment in Hanwell to build a new, cutting-edge store for the town centre, resulting in new jobs. I hope the neighborhood’s new Sainsbury’s Local will bring convenience and variety, and I am interested in their opinions.
It’s been lovely to cut the ribbon and open our new Sainsbury’s Local today following weeks of hard work to have everything ready to welcome customers for the first time,” said Kuldip Sandher, manager of the Sainsbury’s Hanwell Uxbridge Road Local Store. We’re very happy with our new location, and my staff and I are forward to continue helping and supporting the residents of Hanwell for many years to come.
Sainsbury’s has said that it is spending a total of £205 million to increase colleague pay to at least £11 per hour, which is the company’s largest-ever expenditure. The hourly retail colleague pay at Sainsbury’s in London will rise to £11.95 per hour as of this month. In addition to the £20 million Sainsbury’s invested in October, this most recent pay increase of £185 million recognises the extraordinarily diligent work of coworkers.
