FOR THE 16TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR, CARREFOUR IS SUPPORTING THE NATIONAL RESTOS DU CUR DONATION CAMPAIGN.

Since 2008, Carrefour has partnered with and is supporting the national Restos du Coeur donation drive. On March 3, 4, and 5, it will once again welcome volunteers into its shops.

An important donation drive to satisfy rising demand

Given The Restos du Coeur’s national donation campaign provides essential support for the work that it does on a daily basis – more than ever in this time of high inflation, given increasing needs and an increase in the number of the charity’s beneficiaries. Carrefour is once again supporting this important inclusive aid initiative in order to help meet demand. To do so, it will be holding a contribution drive in its stores, engaging its staff, and alerting customers to the need for assistance.

Customers are urged to contribute non-perishable necessities (food, toiletries, tinned goods, baby food, diapers, baby’s milk, etc.) directly through any of the 1500 participating Carrefour stores in order to support the fundraising effort. Additionally, Carrefour Location will loan utility cars to Restos du Coeur locations over the course of the first weekend in March to assist the nonprofit’s logistical needs. Over the course of the three days, employees from across the Group will also be volunteering their time to assist the charity’s locations. The campaign’s endeavours resulted in the donation of 1700 tonnes of goods in 2022.

Danone and Carrefour are collaborating with the Restos du Heart for the 16th consecutive year. For every two Danone Group brand goods purchased*, both businesses will once more donate one meal to the charity. With the help of this deal, one million meals will be served to guests of the Restos du Coeur.

Carrefour is giving a donation of €250,000 in cash and €250,000 worth of goods, as it does every year. This is meant to assist the charity’s efforts to combat food insecurity.

Every day, The Carrefour Foundation partners with Restos du Heart.

Carrefour is dedicated to a programme to improve the calibre of donated goods because it wants everyone to have access to wholesome, well-balanced foods. The Foundation has been assisting the nonprofit organisation with its transformation of the food support strategy for three years (selecting the products which get distributed so as to place the emphasis on organic and local produce, responsible sourcing, etc.). It will provide volunteers with extra assistance this year with goods for young children. Children 0-36 months old will have access to a broader variety of baby food, and cooking classes will be offered to motivate the recipients to consume a more well-rounded diet. To further the effort to increase awareness and support the people the charity welcomes, the first-ever Restos du Coeur cookbook will also be released.

* Buying two products under the Danone Group brand simultaneously from a variety available in-store (see practical details in the stores). distinct from the national donation drive for Restos du Cur.
