For sprayers, John Deere now provides the See & SprayTM Premium performance upgrade kit.

The newest product in the See & Spray series by John Deere is the See & SprayTM Premium performance upgrade kit for self-propelled sprayers. By spraying only the weeds and not the entire field, the kit’s vision system, powered by artificial intelligence, can help farmers reduce costs and fight herbicide resistance with precise application.

With See & Spray Premium, farmers have access to cutting-edge See & Spray technology that kills weeds in maize, cotton, soybean, and fallow fields with non-residual herbicides. Additionally, they can continue to apply broadcast applications with their sprayer at regular operating rates throughout the entire season.

Input prices for farmers are still rising, according to Jordan Lang, marketing manager for John Deere. “Farmers can cover more ground with a single tank of spray after installing a See & Spray Premium performance upgrade kit on their sprayer. They can also use targeted spray, make fewer fill breaks, and use less chemical. Input expenses can be reduced because fewer chemicals are used and only weeds are sprayed. When turned on, See & Spray creates an as-applied image that displays the precise location of product application in the field.”

The See & Spray Premium single tank method makes it easier for the operator to tender. Although See & Spray Premium cannot handle two products at once, it still provides many of the advantages of sprayers with See & Spray Ultimate technology, which can handle two tanks.

See & Spray Premium makes use of the improved stability offered by John Deere BoomTrac ProTM 2.0 as the sprayer moves through the pitch. The sprayer boom is stabilised by this technology as cameras mounted to the boom take sharp pictures of the area. A machine learning algorithm quickly distinguishes between crop and weed using multiple images taken by the cameras in milliseconds. When a weed is found, the John Deere ExactApplyTM nozzle receives an order to spray it. A weed pressure map for the area that was sprayed in the John Deere Operations CenterTM can also be produced using See & Spray Premium.

“See & Spray Premium gives farmers who are satisfied with their current sprayer, or who recently traded into a sprayer, a means to benefit from the most recent John Deere technology that can help them reduce chemical use and lower their input costs,” Lang said. See & Spray Premium makes it possible to treat an area with less herbicide and water while significantly lowering the possibility of product drift.”

In order to qualify for See & Spray Premium, a John Deere sprayer must currently be a model year 2018 or later, have a factory-installed ExactApply system or ExactApply Performance Upgrade Kit, have 15- or 20-inch spacing, and have a 120-foot steel boom.
