FMC Partnership Expands on Biologicals Crop Protection in Brazil

In a groundbreaking move set to reshape Brazil’s agricultural landscape, FMC Corporation has joined forces with Ballagro Agro Tecnologia Ltda. The partnership aims to revolutionize biologicals crop protection in one of the world’s largest agricultural markets.

Dr. Maria Silva, a local agronomist, expressed her excitement about the news. “This collaboration between FMC and Ballagro is exactly what Brazilian farmers need,” she said. “It’s like having the best of both worlds – FMC’s global expertise and Ballagro’s local know-how.”

The agreement allows FMC to distribute Ballagro’s leading biosolutions, combining FMC’s strength in microbials with Ballagro’s fungi-based innovations. This fusion of technologies promises to deliver a new era of biologicals crop protection to Brazilian farms.

João Santos, a soybean farmer from Mato Grosso, shared his perspective: “We’ve been waiting for more options in biologicals crop protection. With FMC and Ballagro teaming up, I’m hopeful we’ll see some game-changing products soon.”

The partnership aligns with FMC’s global strategy to expand its Plant Health business. Dr. Bénédicte Flambard, vice president of FMC Plant Health, emphasized the importance of this move. “By joining forces with Ballagro, we’re not just growing our biologicals crop protection portfolio. We’re redefining sustainable agriculture in Brazil,” she stated.

Renato Guimarães, FMC’s Latin America president, highlighted the challenges facing Brazilian farmers. “From evolving pest pressures to climate change, our growers need innovative biologicals crop protection solutions. This partnership with Ballagro helps us meet those needs head-on.”

The collaboration isn’t just about products; it’s about shared knowledge and innovation. Arnelo Nedel, Ballagro’s commercial director, noted, “Together, FMC and Ballagro will accelerate the development of cutting-edge biologicals crop protection. It’s a win for farmers and for sustainable agriculture.”

FMC’s track record in Brazil includes successful launches like Ataplan® and Provilar® biofungicides. Globally, the company has introduced nearly 50 biological products across 42 countries in the past five years.

As news of the agreement spreads, Brazilian farmers are eager to see the results. Carlos Mendes, a coffee grower from Minas Gerais, summed up the general sentiment: “If this partnership delivers on its promises, it could change how we approach crop protection. I’m looking forward to trying these new biologicals on my farm.”

With this strategic move, FMC and Ballagro are set to write a new chapter in Brazil’s agricultural story, one where biologicals crop protection plays a starring role.
