The CMA CGM Group has been recognized for its commitment to sustainable development with a Platinum medal from EcoVadis, a rating agency that evaluates the social and environmental responsibility of businesses.
CMA CGM Group’s CSR pledges are central to the company’s overall strategy.
CMA CGM is dedicated to the ecological transition and environmental protection, so much so that it plans to achieve Net Zero Carbon status by 2050. To do this, the Group has established a number of innovative initiatives based on the three interconnected tenets of respect for people, protection of the natural world, and the expansion of responsible trade. The Group’s long-term goal is to dominate the market for sustainable supply chain management practices. By taking these measures, CMA CGM has helped the Group cut its CO2 emissions per kilometer and per container by 48 percent between 2008 and 2021.
The Group is launching a new phase of its transition to clean energy with the help of its Fund for Energies.
CMA CGM decided to create the Energies Fund in September 2022 in order to speed up the process of decarbonizing the company. The Fund, which will be capitalized at €1.5 billion over the course of five years, will hasten initiatives supporting the industrial production of new fuels, low-emission mobility solutions across all of the Group’s activities, and energy efficiency programs.
