In addition to its products and services, Carrier involves its employees in Environmental Initiatives around the world through its volunteer program. As a direct result of these initiatives, Carrier employees actively take part in building green communities.
In India, 50 volunteers from Carrier joined hands with Maulana Azad National Urdu University to plant 500 trees on the university’s campus. This project seeks to enhance green cover, increase the quality of air, and protect biodiversity. The university community has taken an active decision to ensure that these trees are nurtured which fosters long term environmental stewardship.
In addition, at Hyderabad Agricultural University, another group of 50 volunteers planted 150 saplings in the Botanical and Horticulture garden and gave an extra 150 plants together with solar fencing to local farmers. The solar fence is an eco-friendly method of crop protection that allows farmers to protect their crops without harming the environment.
About 40 volunteers from Carrier joined together in Monterrey, Mexico to plant trees around the La Silla lowlands. These trees and shrubs will support pollinator and wildlife species around the region. Not only does the project help local wildlife, but it also improves the overall health of the community’s river.
