Carrefour franchised 50 Israeli stores with Electra Consumer Products and Yenot Bitan.

As the crisis in the cost of living continues to take its toll, the entrance of Carrefour into the Israeli market will provide Israeli customers with a selection of items that is both innovative and competitive for their day-to-day purchases.

Carrefour is bringing all of its retail types, including 37 convenience stores, three hypermarkets, 10 supermarkets, and a total of 37 locations, to the country, with nine of those stores located in Tel Aviv. In addition to this, it is in the process of developing an e-commerce website so that customers can shop online.

More than 1,200 different products are brought into Israel by Carrefour, including more than 400 food items branded under the Carrefour name. In addition to that, they have received kosher certification for their products, some of which have been available for purchase since June of 2022. Additionally, it will begin selling locally created products under its own brand name. This enables the stores to be supplied with a number of items from the Carrefour Baby range, which is manufactured in Israel.

Between now and the end of 2024, the Group intends to launch about one hundred new retail locations across the globe.

Carrefour Group is now present in 43 countries, 34 of which are operated as franchisees. Israel is the 43rd country in which they operate. In accordance with the strategic plan for 2026 that Carrefour has developed, the Group has ambitiously set itself the goal of opening 10 more international franchisees.

Carrefour is proud to be opening 50 stores in Israel today, and to be pursuing its international growth strategy. Israel is now the 52nd country in which Carrefour operates worldwide, in particular thanks to our franchise partners. We are confident that Carrefour Israel will help Israeli customers who are starting to feel the effects of the cost-of-living crisis

said Alexandre Bompard, Chairman and CEO of the Carrefour Group.
