Carrefour Made a Partnership with GreenYellow in France

To install photovoltaic power production equipment on 350 hypermarket and supermarket car parks in France, Carrefour made partnership with GreenYellow.

Carrefour made partnership with GreenYellow to set up and run solar power facilities in 350 hypermarkets and supermarkets parking spaces across France. The GreenYellow is a leader in decentralized energy transition in Frace and globally. This move is consistent with Carrefour’s strategy for 2026 aimed at valorizing real estate assets. And aslo achieving an annual production of one terawatt hour (TWh) from the sun in France, Spain and Brazil by 2027.

Financial And Environmental Implications

GreenYellow, a food retail sector player specializing in solar power,. They will finance these PV installations. Which estimates show will generate around four hundred fifty gigawatt hours (GWh) annually within three years. Which are equivalent to the amount consumed by a city with two hundred thousand inhabitants throughout one year. Such electricity will represent approximately twenty percent (20%) of energy demand at Carrefour stores. But produced at very competitive rates. Any surplus output shall either be fed into grid or used locally. Thus earning additional income for Carrefour through sales made to adjacent consumers.
