Bakkavor Launches UK Apprenticeship Expansion with 74 Additional Positions

In an effort to bolster essential skills in the UK economy, Bakkavor has secured 74 new apprenticeship positions as part of their 2025 forecast. The pre-prepared food industry leader is opening positions in engineering, manufacturing, finance, and other business sectors to facilitate long-term career growth. The application window is currently open until June and successful candidates will start in September.

Bakkavor is strategically placing the new apprenticeships at various locations including Lincolnshire, Scotland, London, Nottinghamshire, Kent, Somerset, Northwest, The Midlands, and other regions. Most placements will be available in Lincolnshire due to Bakkavor’s expansion in that region. These apprenticeships are designed to include practical work experience along with industry recognized credentials, enabling candidates to gain work experience from top tier businesses while studying towards the qualification.

Bakkavor’s Apprenticeship Programme is aimed at developing participants’ fundamental employability skills, while also providing them with a wider educational opportunity. Participants are required to undergo formal training, undertake key projects, and engage in volunteer and charitable activities. The company believes this approach to skill development will help build the future workforce of the UK.

Bakkavor’s Chief People Officer, Donna-Maria Lee, stated that it’s critical to put money into new emerging talent for a brighter future.

She noted the importance of engineering, manufacturing, and any other technical skills, stating that they form a backbone of the initiative, and the company is able to compete. It is Bakkavor’s intention to fill the skill gaps through these apprenticeships and create opportunities that are beneficial for the people and the economy.

This demonstrates a solution-oriented stance towards changing workforce dynamics in key sectors as the UK continues to confront numerous workforce obstacles. The firm’s investment in talent and skills reinforces its commitment towards enhanced employment opportunity for the longer term. This provides an entry level qualification in which participants are guaranteed to learn the requisite theory and practical skills that cam bestow them success in the industry.

Bakkavor continues to address the need of those young professionals by offering career progression opportunities in strategic industries. The 2025 Apprenticeship Programme is yet another attempt by the company to meet the ever-increasing demand for skilled labor while simultaneously trying to retain the talent. Students who wish to undertake the apprenticeship should apply as soon as possible in order to start building their career by gaining relevant experience and qualifications.
