Asda to Open 21 New Convenience Stores Across the UK by End of January

The well-known grocery store chain Asda has said it will open 21 more convenience shops by the end of January. After the holiday break, the company is getting back to opening convenience stores. Today, five stores are opening in places like Derby, Stoke-on-Trent, and Crawley.

Asda is currently converting convenience stores it bought from the Co-op and EG Group into its new Asda Express brand. These new stores are part of this ongoing programme.

The 21 stores that are set to open by the end of January will join the 17 stores. And which already have opened this month in places like Clapham, Southampton, and Cardiff.

Asda Express shops that have been recently renovated will carry up to 3,000 brand-name and own-label items to meet the needs of a wide range of customers. This includes “top-up” shopping for things like bread and milk, easy ways to grab lunch on the go, and things you need to make dinner from home.

Hain Celestial Group Appoints Chad Marquardt President

Andy Perry, Asda’s Vice President of Convenience, was excited about the programme and said, “After pausing our convenience rollout during the holiday season, the programme is now back in full swing.” We have exciting plans to speed up the programme over the next few months. By the end of Q1, we want all 470 shops that we bought from the Co-op and EG Group to be Asda Express.
