The discount applies to food and drink, clothing and homeware from George at Asda, toys, gifts, and optical items; it is available in all 635 Asda stores located across the United Kingdom. When checking out, Blue Light cardholders will need to provide our staff members with a copy of their own valid Blue Light card in addition to a photo ID in order to receive the discount.
The Blue Light Card is a program that is recognized on a national level and offers various discounts to individuals who work in the health care industry, emergency services, social care sector, and the armed forces. Due to the incredible work that Asda cardholders do each and every day to keep everyone safe, the retailer has decided to increase the discount it offers to cardholders.
Asda’s co-owner, Mohsin Issa, stated that the company is “delighted” to have extended its partnership with the Blue Light Card into its third year and will do so until the end of March 2023. Because of the outstanding work done by our emergency services personnel, we are pleased to be able to continue this discount into the new year, in addition to our own Asda Rewards loyalty scheme and our consistently low prices.
Blue Light Card’s Chief Executive Officer, Tom Dalby, was quoted as saying, “We are incredibly proud of our partnership with ASDA and understand how much it means to our members, especially during this time of year.” Helping to support families and individuals across the UK during what is a difficult time for many, the exclusive 10% discount on food and soft drinks, George clothing and homeware, toys, gifts, and optical really highlights ASDA’s appreciation of NHS staff and other frontline workers.
