Amcor Packaging For US Beef Exports Vacuum Moda
The Amcor Moda vacuum packaging is an integrated solution for tubular rollstock and on-the-spot bag creation merited to fresh meat processors. It has been the solution for US beef exports since it cuts Saucer high matends and slice has outs by as much as 30%, slashes packing stock stricture needs and also reduces packaging SKUs by tubed printing on the tubing as it runs.
Amcor Moda producers have streamlined their operations with the solution’s implementation. They no longer use corrugated shrink bag boxes, which significantly decreases their usage. Instead, the tubestock rolls are packed on pallets. With Amcor’s tubestock, producers can create 40% more bags compared to traditional shrink bags—this lowers the required transportation and inventory space by 40%. Furthermore, the adaptable tubestock can accommodate various sizes and cuts of boneless and bone-in meats, which lowers the amount of unique packages needed to be kept in inventory. Adjustments to the dimensions and graphics of the packages can be made instantaneously.
The Eco-Cards that were manually inserted are no longer needed with the high-resolution thermal transfer printer which prints logos, dates, and time codes directly on the packaging, reducing overall materials needed for the package.
More environmentally friendly packaging films are now part of the Moda system. Traditional shrink tubestock is now replaced with Amcor Eco-Tite® that has 29% less packaging. It fulfills the APR Design® Guide requirements and passes APR’s Critical Guidance Testing. Amcor also replaces patch bags for fresh bone-in beef cuts with CBP® tubestock, claiming over a 35% reduction in material usage by weight.
