ALDI INCREASES SUPPORT FOR ALLIESBY DISTRIBUTING TRAINING TO MORE THAN 800 MANAGERS

In order to ensure that Aldi’s workforce of over 40,000 coworkers feels appreciated and involved in the workplace, the supermarket chain is providing allyship training to all of its managers across the United Kingdom.

This program is intended to provide managers with more agency and motivate them to better assist, collaborate with, and advocate for their coworkers who come from minority groups.

In the course, participants will learn how to raise awareness about what allyship is and the benefits it offers, as well as how to adopt actions that demonstrate allyship and how to effectively confront others.

The goal is to provide assistance to managers in order to facilitate the creation of a more welcoming environment for employees at the company’s offices, stores, and warehouses.

It comes after the launch of Aldi’s allyship guide earlier this year, which provided employees with information on how they can be an ally to anyone who has experienced societal barriers, such as those who belong to different religions or racial and ethnic groups.

LGBTQ+ identities, and those who are living with a disability. This new initiative follows in the footsteps of the previous one.

The guidance is an element of Aldi’s larger diversity and inclusion policy, which is called Embrace and focuses on making the grocery chain an environment that is respectful, supportive, and representative of its employees.

Additionally, during the course of the previous year, the supermarket collaborated with Diversifying Group to provide webinars to its employees. Additional webinars are scheduled to take place over the course of the following few months.

“We’re always looking for ways to better support our colleagues,” said Richard Shuttleworth, the Diversity and Inclusion Director at Aldi UK. “Providing training for our managers is a significant step we can take to assist them and their teams in becoming allies.”

The implementation of this training is just one of the many ways that we are committed to helping achieve the goal of fostering a healthy work environment for all of our coworkers. This is just one of the many ways that we are committed to helping achieve that goal.
