Ahold Delhaize reveals the appointment of a new supervisory board member.

 

Today, Ahold Delhaize announced Julia Vander Ploeg’s candidature for the position of Supervisory Board member. The proposed nomination to the April 12, 2023, Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) will be made by the Supervisory Board.

 

American national Julia Vander Ploeg presently serves on the audit and compensation committees of Extra Space Storage’s (NYSE:EXR) board of directors and is a director of Neighborly Inc. From 2018 to 2022, Julia held the position of Senior Vice President and Global Director of Digital and Technology for Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where she was in charge of the company’s digital and technology strategy. Prior to that, Julia served as Vice President of Digital for McDonald’s U.S.A., where she designed and hired the company’s first native digital team to launch mobile ordering at 14,000 restaurants across North America. She also oversaw a significant digital transformation effort for Volvo Car Corporation’s consumer and enterprise digital business plans.

 

We are pleased to recommend Julia Vander Ploeg for appointment to the Supervisory Board, says Supervisory Board Chair Peter Agnefjäll. Ahold Delhaize will benefit from Julia’s vast relevant expertise from a variety of international and dynamic companies. Julia is an experienced executive. Throughout her career, Julia has led sizable digital transformation initiatives as a leader in the digital and e-commerce industries.

 

In addition, Bala Subramanian, who has been a member of the Ahold Delhaize Supervisory Board since April 14, 2021, will resign from the board on April 12, 2023, in accordance with the AGM.
