The next development in ALDI Ireland’s committed West of Ireland expansion programme, which will see over €63 million spent and more than 140 new full-time jobs created throughout Connacht over the next two years, is the official opening of the company’s new shop in Mountbellew, Co. Galway.
New ALDI stores have opened in Ballina, Tuam, and Mountbellew thanks to this €63 million investment, which also upgraded several of the stores in Portumna, Clifden, Galway Retail Park, and Ballinasloe. Additional new stores are scheduled to open
There will be 15 new full-time, permanent employment created at the new Mountbellew shop, ALDI’s eleventh location in Galway, including management and store assistant positions. This takes the total number of ALDI employees in the county to 260.
ALDI’s Mountbellew store, which is on College Road, was formally opened today in the presence of the neighbourhood crew and Store Manager Jolita Mazulyte.
Jolita Mazulyte, ALDI Mountbellew Store Manager, said the following during the launch of the store:
We announced a significant expansion initiative in Connacht last month that will involve an investment of more than €63 million in six new stores and the creation of more than 140 full-time employment and 350 construction jobs. I’m excited to unveil our 154th store in Ireland and our 11th store in Galway with the opening of this new €7 million store in Mountbellew. With the addition of this new site and the 15 new jobs it will bring, we can further our goal of providing Galway residents with value where it is most practical for them.
