-

For the very first time, the SIG Group has featured in the DJSI World and DJSI Europe’s indices list. This achievement marks a significant leap for the SIG Group, which has now been featured both in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the first time. Apart from this, it also proves SIG’s active engagement with ESG – Environmental, Social, and Governance concepts and initiatives as one of the ways that the company wants to operate and perform in.

The indices measure the economic, environmental, and social performance of companies worldwide, which makes them internationally recognized. The inclusion is based on the results of the analysis of these entities’ performance and contributions to these areas. By joining these global and European indices, SIG has proved to remain serious in its commitment to sustainable practices.

“I feel proud of this achievement,” said the SIG Group’s CEO, Samuel Sigrist, “Being listed in the Dow Jones Sustainable Index is proof of our ongoing focus on sustainability. This motivates us to continue developing packaging that is more sustainable for our customers, the consumers, and the world.”

SIG has taken various steps to improve its ESG performance. The company has set a target to achieve net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2050. Intermediate targets have been set for 2030. This aim has been approved by SBTi, which reinforces the commitment of SIG to reducing its impact on climate change.

SIG undertakes projects in protecting and restoring important forest landscapes to enhance biodiversity and support local communities. He, together with other leading figures and organizations, established a network to promote engagement in and positive contributions to the environment and socially responsible global governance.

This recognition improves SIG’s corporate reputation, which builds trust among stakeholders. For investors, for customers, and for partners, belonging to the DJSI indices is a proof of the company’s dedication to long-term sustainability.

Going ahead, SIG intends to extend its sustainable efforts by investing in cutting-edge technologies and solutions which will mitigate environmental footprint. The company is working on sourcing for low carbon energy, enhancing energy use efficiency, and increasing the recyclability of its packaging products. With constant improvement of it ESG metrics, SIG intends to continue being a top brand in sustainable packaging solutions.

To conclude, the presentation of SIG Group on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices illustrates a major step in the company’s sustainability growth. As such, this acknowledgement demonstrates how concerned the company is with ESG assessment and how productive this concern translates into value for clients and other stakeholders of the business.
